The name of the season of Advent originated from the Latin word, adventus, which means “coming”. Our Advent season is a time of expectation and waiting for the coming of Christ – we prepare for his second coming as we celebrate his first coming. How will you prepare for Christ’s coming? Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men.
