The Crestwood School District encompasses 110 square miles and includes Fairview and Rice Elementary Schools, and the Crestwood Middle/High School. The school district consists of the following townships: Slocum, Dorrance, Nuangola, Rice, Wright, Fairview, Dennison, Penn Lake Park and White Haven.
In a study, conducted by the Times-Shamrock Newspapers, Crestwood was one of three public school districts in Northeastern Pennsylvania that outperformed 34 other area districts. In the Fall of 2005, Crestwood High School recorded SAT scores above Pennsylvania and national averages in both verbal and math skills and ranked as one of the leaders in Wyoming Valley. PSSA scores exceeded the state standard by 25 percentage points in reading and 18 percentage points in math.
