One more piece from the secretary before I hand over any “pastor stuff” I’ve been handling. YEA!!!
I’m really glad we found an interim pastor. Pastor Ken started officially on October 19 and has been getting acclimated to his position here. I’ve heard many complimentary comments regarding his sermons and his sincerity.
We’ll all get a chance to mingle with Pastor Ken on November 1 after our worship service. He is really interested in getting to know us. The Consistory was planning something for us to all get together, and Pastor Ken asked if we ever have a meal together. Obviously, he didn’t know our enthusiasm for pot luck dinners. But now he does!
Breaking bread – isn’t that what we hear so often in scriptures? There’s so many times that we read of Jesus eating with his disciples, with friends, and even the “outcasts” of society. We even celebrate the Last Supper that he ate before his arrest and crucifixion. In our own time so many events include meals – weddings, funerals, baptisms, birthday celebrations, anniversaries. People just like to eat. I think they especially like to eat with friends and family.
So bring your favorite covered dish, casserole, or dessert and welcome Pastor Ken to our family with a time of fellowship.
Your Secretary,
