Here we are at the beginning of our Lenten journey to the cross. During this time we are given extra opportunities for fellowship with our fellow church members and time to worship together. We had a great turnout for our Ash Wednesday service and hopefully that will continue throughout this season. We meet for fellowship and supper at six and go into worship at seven.
The messages that you hear during this time will be on “Soul Food”. You know I am from the South and do know a good bit about that subject. When my mother was alive and I would go to visit her in Alabama she would always ask me what I wanted to eat. She would say, “You don’t have to tell me fried chicken, I know you want that.” She knew me pretty well.
The subject of “Soul Food” might be approached from different angles during this season and I invite and encourage you to come hear what they may be.

People

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
