From the Pastor’s Desk

Some of us never tire from singing Christmas hymns and carols! One of my favorite is “The First Noel,” a traditional English Carol. Not only does it tell the whole manger story, it also gives us the essence of the promised Messiah coming to earth in the form of the baby. This is truly the essence of the Christmas season, especially during this year of COVID-19.

We have come to this point of a difficult year and we have learned some valuable lessons: 1) how important family is, especially if you have prayed through a difficult season with your spouse or a loved one; and 2) how important your church family is for they are the ones who will continue to uplift you through the hard times. Others might leave you or try to cause further chaos in your life but your church family—called by God to share love with others through the tough times—will stay the course! You see, God sees the larger picture, and he knows what is ahead. He knew what would happen when his Son came to earth, yet he sent him anyway out of love for humanity.

“For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only Son…” (John 3:16).

He sent his Son for you and for me!

LET US JOURNEY INTO A NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year

In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock at night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. — Luke 2:8-11 (NASV)
