Allison, Kimmy, Marc, and I are about ready to take off on our mission journey. We haven’t done this before so don’t really know what to expect but we’re excited and ready for whatever comes our way. I found this quote this morning and thought it appropriate to use for our motto on this trip – since we are from Pennsylvania.
“I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now.
Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
William Penn 1644-1718, Religious Leader and founder of Pennsylvania
We will be doing good things for the people of South Carolina who can’t help themselves. I’m sure we will have lots of stories to tell upon our return. Please pray for us while we are away.
(Don’t think it’s going to be all work and no play. We do have one free day to plan fun things. I believe I heard the words “water park” mentioned.)
Dave and Archie will serve you well while I am away from the pulpit – on that you can rely. Please give them your full support.
It has been so wonderful to be able to worship in the pavilion the last few weeks. There seems to always be a nice little breeze to cool us off just a smidgen. There are still a few finishing touches to get done but I’m just happy that we are using our new facility and that all of us seem to be enjoying the informality but sincerity of our experience. Most of all I love the closeness of everyone sitting together. It seems to bring a closeness of Spirit that isn’t as evident when we are spread out in the sanctuary.
Thank you for your prayers and continued support of our mission.
God bless you all!
