We will again host the men of V.I.S.I.O.N. during the week of May 9 to May 15. As most of you know, V.I.S.I.O.N. is no longer able to operate as it has in the past and has joined with Catholic Social Services in order to keep providing for the men who need its services. These men are working toward financial independence and want to be contributors to our communities. When we hosted them last spring, our road clean-up day was scheduled during that time and some of the men came out with our members to pick up the trash along Alberdeen Road, confirming their commitment to be productive community members. If you would like to help us by preparing a supper for them, please contact Cindy Heller at 868-5101. As we minister to these men, we are reminded of Jesus’ words, “As you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it to me.” Let us serve Christ by serving others.
V I S I O N Mission Week
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock at night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. — Luke 2:8-11 (NASV)
