Walkers from our local Wapwallopen Ministerium churches participated in our Crop Walk on October 3, 2010. We raised $1,092 which was forwarded to Church World Service to help alleviate hunger here and in many countries around the world. The way they help us is by allowing us to direct a portion of our donations to local community organizations. In our case, that means that the Wapwallopen Ministerium Food Bank received $273 to help people in our own community. Thank you to all the walkers and those who supported them and made this donation possible.
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock at night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. — Luke 2:8-11 (NASV)
