For any of you who missed church on January 30 you missed a wonderful worship service. Our Youth were in charge of the service and did it all – and what a great job they did! I want to thank all who participated. On Sunday March 6 they have a Mardi Gras brunch planned for after church. If I were you, I would plan to attend – they have some good stuff (fun and food) planned. Some of the kids want to go on a mission trip this summer and this is their first money raising effort to defray the cost of the trip.
I know that weather has kept some of you in for much of this winter – and sometimes I don’t blame you for staying in. I know that for some it is scary to go out when it’s slippery. It would be terrible to have to come visit you in the hospital because of a broken hip. It is discouraging though to see others stay home from church and then see you out and about other places. Let’s begin to make coming to worship a priority.
Since October and the death of my son Sam I have been in a bit of a funk. I think I’m finally beginning to see the light again. I know that Jesus has walked with me through this difficult time and I thank all of you who have walked with me as well. Just this morning as I was reading I came across a hymn that really personifies what I believe and how that belief makes me feel.
I have a song that Jesus gave me,
It was sent from heav’n above;
There never was a sweeter melody,
“Tis a melody of love.
In my heart there rings a melody,
There rings a melody with heaven’s harmony;
In my heart there rings a melody;
There rings a melody of love.
This song will probably be in my mind and on my lips all day and maybe even longer. Won’t you join me in the chorus as you go about your day? Feel the peace and joy that knowing Jesus brings to your life and show it to those around you!
God bless!
