There is still time to purchase a shopping pass good on October 5 at Boscov’s to support V.I.S.I.O.N. As with many programs these days, V.I.S.I.O.N., the shelter program which services homeless men, has been notified that their 2010/2011 funding has been reduced. In order to offset this funding cut, they are participating in a promotion sponsored by Boscov’s. For $5 you can purchase a 25% off shopping pass good on October 5. All checks should be made to VISION for the ticket sales. When you go shopping, please tear off the bottom portion and drop it in the Friends Helping Friends Ballot Box. The agency selling the most tickets will be awarded a prize.
V.I.S.I.O.N MISSION WEEK
We will again host the men who use the services of V.I.S.I.O.N. during the week of October 18 to 24. The men arrive around 5:00 pm on Monday the 18th. They leave each morning for work, returning around 5:00 for their evening meal. After they leave on Monday, the 25th, their belonging will be packed up and moved to the next host facilities. If you would like to help feed the men or donate toward the meals, please see Pastor Penny, Allen and Pauline Dennis or Cindy Heller.
